I have been nickel and diming it most of my life. Thankfully I am creative, imaginative and a determined to cultivate what my family needs. I create something from nothing and even surprise myself sometimes!

My oldest son has multiple food allergies. (dairy, eggs, soy, corn, tree nuts, shellfish, rosemary, sesame and sunflower seeds). I love to cook and bake so, this really pushes me. Turning everyday recipes into something the whole family can eat. Without breaking the bank or being in the kitchen all day cooking multiple meals. Learning how to incorporate his needs with all of our meals. He was never left out and we all enjoy the same meals together. Because of this, I have many recipes to share. Some are food allergy friendly and other’s aren’t, but I promise they are equally as delicious.

Unlike what everyone else seems to portray online, in person or even on social media. You don’t have to have money to make money. You have to be creative, imaginative and think outside the box. Being rich is an ideal, but in reality most of us are struggling. Struggling to make ends meet all while trying to create those memories that will last a lifetime. Finding that you are in fact rich in so many ways. Money doesn’t create happiness. You do. You are the miracle maker for your family and for your self in fact. Because “when there is a will, there is a way.” And you’re Mom so, your will is the way so to speak lol

Baking is all good, but the real fun lies in the decorating for me. I started doing cakes about 10 years ago and am self taught. (politely put, I learn by making mistakes. Many of them!) Some of them are actually funny stories, but in the end they all turned out better than I envisioned. Surprising even myself with the reveal. But there is value in the journey. Ten years of experience to show you what I have learned. Taking an idea and creating something unforgettable for someone.

Since money has always been the issue. I’ve learned that we can create the most valuable memories with silliness and things we all enjoy.

Create something from nothing. No sew super hero costumes. Batman and Super Mickey

Like for instance, this is the start of our comic book tradition. – My husband got comic con tickets one year and to make it even more fun, I let the boys wear these superhero outfits I created out of fleece and plain old pajamas. No sewing involved. The boys were so excited to cosplay at the event, we continue this tradition to this day! It doesn’t look like my husband is dressed for the occasion, but let me assure you he is! He is wearing a t-shirt that I created a bumblebee (from transformers) on and I behind the camera, was wearing a custom ironman tank top;)

Memory Making Made Easy

Follow along, share your favorite posts and comment what works or didn’t work for you and why. After all I learn by doing and not all of my creative endeavors are winners, but what have I or you got to lose? It’s all part of the memory making process! Create something from nothing it’s my superpower, what’s yours?

  1. Oooh a great post!! But I believe that money creates happiness. It allows you to experience a lot more things than you wouldn’t otherwise.
