Lets start off by saying that everyone loves meatballs. But how do you get a good meatball without eggs to help bind them? This was a question I asked myself for years. I tried so many things. Nothing seemed to work or taste like the authentic Italian meatball everyone loves. I was trying to find a meatball for all to enjoy.
The list of food allergies in our house is dairy, egg, soy, corn, tree nuts, shellfish, rosemary and sesame seeds. So, when cooking and baking I have to take all of this into account to make something delicious we can all enjoy.
Coming from an Italian background I love me some good old spaghetti and meatballs. But every time I tried to make them, they would crumble in the sauce turning into a meat sauce. I was trying to make less work for myself. I didn’t want to make two separate dinners. Just one for the whole family to enjoy.
Over time with some trial and error and a newer product Just Egg my son can enjoy the traditional meatball. We all do – these meatballs are great for a meatball subs or spaghetti and meatballs.

Meatballs For All Ingredients
- 2 pounds of 90% lean ground hamburger
- 2 pounds ground pork
- 2 cups Bread crumbs of your choosing (I grind up pepperidge farm herb seasoned stuffing mix and use this as breadcrumbs)
- 6 Tablespoons Just Egg. – Just Egg is a plant based egg substitute. -It’s usually found where you buy regular eggs at the store. You can cook and bake with this and you won’t even know the difference!
- 1 Tablespoon of minced garlic – either fresh or from the jar is fine
- 1 tablespoon of Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 3 tablespoons of parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Olive oil
Directions for Meatballs For All
Makes about 45 large sized meatballs
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees,
In a large mixing bowl add all ingredients and with your hands you need to knead it all together thoroughly.
Take small portions slightly smaller than the palm of your hand and roll them into a tight ball.
Place each raw meatball on a sheet pan covered in a thin layer of olive oil. They can be placed touching each other.
Bake for about 35-40 minutes and then they are ready to be placed into your sauce on the stove top.
Let the meatballs simmer in with the sauce for about 15-20 minutes and they are ready to serve.
Best enjoyed immediately, but can be stored in an air tight container and placed into the freezer to enjoy on a later date.
I Promise
These are so delicious just like the ones made with egg, no one can tell the difference.
