Honey Barbecue Sauce

This Honey barbecue sauce recipe is show stopping, incredible and addictive. You will be amazed how simple Barbecue sauce is to make, and how much better it tastes.

I created this for my son. He loves burgers, but due to his allergies most barbecue sauce on the market is not safe for him to eat. He is allergic to corn and let’s face it, corn is in just about everything. So in an attempt to make a condiment that would enhance his burger experience. I accidentally created this recipe. It has become a staple in our fridge. It’s the burger must in our house. This honey Barbecue sauce goes well with pulled pork sandwiches and BBQ chicken.

Not only is it the simplest, best, tastiest addition to all your BBQ meats it’s also allergy friendly! Free from Dairy, egg, soy, corn, tree nut, shellfish, sesame, sunflower seeds and rosemary (The list of allergen’s I go by) and it is still absolutely show stopping! You’ll have people asking you for this recipe for sure!

Honey Barbecue Sauce Ingredients –

1 ½ Cups – Ketchup (I use a ketchup that is simple with no high fructose corn syrup)

½ Pouch – Chili seasoning packet ( I use one that is Simple & Clean with no artificial flavors or corn of any kind)

¾ cup – Honey

¼ Cup Maple Syrup – (Here is a little secret – When making this recipe use the Homemade Maple Syrup I have posted on my page. This makes all the difference. 😉)

2 tsp. – Garlic powder

¾ of a pound – Dark brown sugar (packed)

Honey Barbecue Sauce Directions –

Measure out all ingredients into a medium, heavy bottomed saucepan. Give it a good stir. You do not want lumps of sugar floating around. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally to make sure the sugar is melting in and not settling on the bottom of the pan. This may cause it to burn. Once it starts to bubble, turn the heat on low and let it cook for about 10 minutes. Then, promptly remove from heat and let cool. It will thicken to the perfect consistency as it cools.

You can enjoy this right away or store your honey barbecue sauce in an airtight container. In the refrigerator for a week or two.

I know you will enjoy this one 😊

Happy Hamburgers, Pulled Pork or BBQ chicken Yummm!
